As we plan for the holiday break with our children, we should be thinking about how the break socially affects our children. Parents can be proactive and try to help the kids plan social activities during the break. They can let the kids know which days they are available to help the kids get to social activities and encourage them to reach out to friends to make plans.
When kids are disconnected from their peers it creates a lot of anxiety, the fear of missing out. It's important for kids to stay connected even during break. This is a great time to have a conversation about social media and their interaction online with their peers. This is especially important during the holiday season which normally sees in increase in depression and anxiety. See our video below for some great advice:
